Jazz Fest kicks off Friday

Comedian Ron White
Comedian Ron White performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Auditorium Theatre. White was part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour 2000-'03, which grossed more than $15 million. Lambert at CMAC
Country star Miranda Lambert comes to the Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center for a concert today. Lambert's video for "The House that Built Me" this week won Female Video of the Year at the 2011 CMT Music Awards. The 7:30 p.m. show tonight features special guests Justin Moore and Josh Kelley. Embrace the outdoors
The Genesee Valley Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club plans its 14th Annual Outdoor Expo 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on the beach at Mendon Ponds Park. The expo features demonstrations, discussions and activities on a wide variety of outdoor-related topics. Attendees will be able to participate in workshops for hiking, canoeing, kayaking, backpacking, camping, bicycling and many other related outdoor skills. The event is free. Car, bike show in Pittsford
The 2011 Pittsford International Auto & Bike Show is noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Pittsford Municipal Parking Lot (State Street behind Pittsford Library). Admission is free, but Pittsford varsity cheerleaders will be selling raffle tickets for cash and other prizes to benefit Rochester’s CURE Childhood Cancer Association. J.J. Abrams' "Super 8" is set in the summer of 1979, when a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local deputy (Kyle Chandler of "Friday Night Lights") tries to uncover the truth—something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined. Lunchtime music
Get out of the office at lunch this summer and enjoy some live music. The Hochstein School of Music and Dance and WXXI present the third annual Hochstein at High Falls, a noontime summer concert series. It kicks off today. Artists will perform nearly every Thursday for 10 weeks. Food and beverage vendors will be on site. The lineup is today: Thunder Body, reggae and dub; June 16: the Dady Brothers; June 23: jazz vocalist and bassist Katie Ernst; June 30: Windsor Folk Family's series debut; July 14: the seven-piece Po’ Boys Brass Brand; July 21: Fred Wine and Brian Williams; July 28: Mambo Kings; Aug. 4: Moho Collective; and Aug. 11: CASH Back, a group inspired by Johnny Cash; Aug. 18: Walri.
