Russian ballet at Naz

The Russian National Ballet Theatre presents "Chopiniana" and "Romeo and Juliet" at 8 p.m. Saturday on the Callahan Theater stage at the Arts Center. "Chopiniana," with choreography by Mikhail Fokine, premiered in 1907 in Russia. It is set to the music of Chopin, orchestrated by Alexander Glazunov. "Chopiniana" does not have a traditional plot; it is not the characters that develop, but rather the themes, moods and feelings. "Romeo and Juliet," based on the Shakespeare tragedy, is a full-length ballet with original choreography by Marius Petipa. Tickets are $40 to $70. Lorraine Person, a professor of theater arts and dance at Nazareth, will offer a lecture before the performance at 7 p.m. in Room A-14. Visit naz.edu for tickets.

Eastman Opera presents 'Manon'
This weekend the Eastman Opera Theatre at Eastman School of Music presents "Manon," the late 19th-century opera by Jules Massenet. Massenet's work traces the tragic story of the beautiful Manon, a sheltered young woman headed for a convent, who is diverted by "love at first sight" for the charming and chivalrous Des Grieux. It will be staged at 7:30 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15 to $35. Visit rochester.edu for more information.

A cappella group
A cappella group Take 6 will perform Saturday at the Cultural Life Center at Roberts Wesleyan College. The contemporary style of this gospel music vocal sextet blends strong jazz and R&B influences with smooth, deeply layered harmonies that simply have no equal. Take 6 has won 10 Grammy awards, 10 Dove awards and two NAACP Image Award nominations. The group has recorded or performed with Quincy Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Don Henley, Whitney Houston and Aaron Neville. Visit roberts.edu.

On the big screen
"Source Code" is an action thriller about a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown man and discovers he's part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. It stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan. Fun fact: The film is directed by British filmmaker Duncan Jones, who is David Bowie's son. "Hop" tells the story of an out-of-work slacker (James Marsden), who accidentally injures the Easter Bunny (voiced by Russell Brand) and must take him in as he recovers. Find movie times.
