Geva presents 'Radio Golf'

Richard Brooks, known to fans of TV's "Law & Order" as Assistant District Attorney Paul Robinette, performs in an August Wilson play at Geva Theatre Center. Brooks portrays Harmon Wilks, the Ivy League-educated lawyer at the center of Wilson's "Radio Golf." Set in 1997 in an area of Pittsburgh called the Hill District, "Radio Golf" is the final installment in Wilson's 10-play series on the African-American experience in the 20th century. Brooks grew up in Cleveland. He originated the Harmon Wilks role when "Radio Golf" premiered at Yale Repertory Theatre in 2005. He has many other stage credits, including the off-Broadway production of "Police Boys," the title character of Wilson's "King Hedley II" at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago and the world premiere of Regina Taylor's "Drowning Crow." A variety of movie roles include "Johnny B Good," which he also directed and produced. "Radio Golf" is a co-production with Syracuse Stage. Crystal Fox also stars as Mame (pictured with Brooks). Popovich Comedy Pet Theater
Nazareth College Arts Center presents the world-famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater at 7 p.m. Friday in the Callahan Theater. The Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is a family-oriented blend of the unique physical comedy, juggling and balancing skills of the internationally acclaimed circus artist Gregory Popovich and the extraordinary talents of his 30 performing pets. The show features 15 cats and 15 dogs, along with a few ferrets, white rats and doves. Tickets are $25 to $55. Visit naz.edu for more information.

'Lion King' musical
"The Lion King" musical is a breathtaking spectacle of animals brought to life by an enormous company of international performers, whose detailed costumes, carved masks and intricate makeup will transport you to the gorgeous vistas of the African savanna. Based on the 1994 Disney animated film, the musical continues to reign as one of the most popular stage shows around the world. Shows are at the Rochester Auditorium Theatre through April 17. Annual home show
Find homeowner ideas for indoors and out at this year's Rochester Home & Garden Show on Saturday and Sunday. New this year will be expanded garden displays and vendors, including a marketplace with home and garden products. There will be more seminars on home remodeling, gardening and kitchens and baths, and top local chefs will present culinary demonstrations each day. U.S. Navy Concert Band
The U.S. Navy Concert Band, the Navy’s premier wind ensemble, will perform at Roberts Wesleyan College at 3 p.m. Sunday. The band presents a wide array of marches, patriotic selections, orchestral transcriptions and modern wind ensemble repertoire. As the original ensemble of the Navy, it has performed public concerts and participated in high-profile events for more than 85 years. For details, visit roberts.edu.

On the big screen
In "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules," Greg Heffley and his older brother Rodrick must deal with their parents' misguided attempts to have them bond. Zachary Gordon and Devon Bostick star. Set in the 1950s, "Sucker Punch" follows Baby Doll (Emily Browning), who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality in which she and four other female inmates at the asylum plot to escape. Find movie times.

Strong goes 'Star Wars'
Come dressed as one of your favorite science-fiction characters and be swept up in a weekend of epic proportions during In Another Galaxy Weekend at the National Museum of Play at the Strong. Special activities are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Meet actors from the 501st Legion and rebel legion of "Star Wars", and pose for pictures with your favorite sci-fi characters. Watch veteran artist Katie Cook bring "Star Wars" characters to life.
